MOTORSPORT WALES

The Welsh Automotive Forum supports all companies in Wales involved in motorsport - from high-end engineering right down to merchandising and clothing. WAF aims to benefit these companies with knowledge transfer as their conduitand voice of the Welsh Motorsport Industry.

A world class Welsh Industry deserves world class support. The Welsh Automotive Forum recognises the top quality results of the Motorsport Industry in Wales and has a programme to support the industry within Wales.

WAF would like to achieve a complete network of all companies in Wales that are involved in Motorsport, covering all aspects, from high performance engineering capabilities, to those involved in clothing and merchandising. WAF aims act as their conduit to be the voice of the Welsh Motorsport Industry and to champion their efforts by providing a support structure for all organisations involved in this high-profile industry. The Support involves:

• Events for networking and knowledge transfer.
• Working with the Accelerate Clusters Motorsport Manager, and to exploit opportunities for economic benefit.
• Working with the Wales Rally GB Education Group, to engage with schools, FE and HE to encourage the young into automotive design and engineering, using motorsport as the catalyst.
• To showcase these results during Wales Rally GB.
• To work, where appropriate, with the UK Motorsport Industry Association. (MIA)

WAF works closely with the Accelerate Motorsport Cluster’s manager, so that there is clear understanding of each others roles in the sector. Given the diversity of this sector in Wales, events such as lunches, dinners etc, will provide rare opportunities to unite all members of the motorsport industry group, to network and share their thoughts on current and future developments. Topical speakers will give valuable insights into their respective organisations in order to disseminate information.
